Balance

We work hard but we know when to stop working and start living. We believe that working weekends and evenings is not sustainable and should not be necessary save for exceptional circumstances. We all have a proper say in when, where and how we work. Healthy and happy people are one of the best assets a business could have.

Quality

We know our stuff and deliver great quality work. We keep our knowledge and tools up to date.

Solving problems & stepping into gaps

We don’t simply tell our clients or colleagues what is wrong. We try to come up with the solution or options too. We try to be as helpful as possible to our clients in solving their problems. When we see a gap, we try to step into it and fill it with a solution. We don’t just wait for someone else to do it.

Integrity and candour

We don’t lie and people don’t need other people to lie to us. That does not mean telling our clients or colleagues how much we dislike their shirt – that’s just mean! We do speak up when something is important though and try our best not be defensive when someone feeds back to us. We speak to the person concerned directly and we don’t gossip.

Learning

We take responsibility in an honest way, not blaming others or taking responsibility away from others. There are far far more important things than being right! We are open minded, curious and committed to continuously improving and learning. We don’t waste energy proving who was right or wrong just for the sake of it. If something goes wrong we want to be curious about how it happened instead. That is not to say that action will not be needed at times – it will and we will take it. But being overly focused on blame is a waste of our time and energy.

Appreciation

We say thank you and take a moment to celebrate and enjoy achievements.

Development

We all have development needs and take our personal development seriously. We invest in the development of our people. We want everyone to be at their best. If that means they have outgrown their job role or the company then that’s okay. Keeping people in situ when it is not working helps nobody. Hopefully everyone grows together but if you need to change something for your own development do tell us and we’ll do what we reasonably can to support you.

A strong business = greater freedom

We focus our time and money on the important things: happy clients and happy colleagues. We will not spend money on frivolous or thoughtless things. We look for ways to ensure efficiency: templates, automation, administrative support, outsourcing, shopping around, looking for recurring revenue models and adopting proportionate systems. Our discipline on the business basics, together with the quality of our work, enables us to engage with our clients on a win win basis. The resulting profitable business will allow us to support our clients and colleagues through inevitable economic storms and uncertainties. Our business and financial discipline gives us breathing space to solve problems, look after our team and remain competitive. This disicpline can enable greater freedom. We spend our time and money where it matters most.
